What is a kahviklapi?
Kahviklapi is a briquette made from used coffee grounds that can be used like firewood, for example, in a fireplace or for heating a sauna. Each log weighs approximately 500 grams and burns for about one hour.
How can I use kahviklapi?
You can burn coffee logs where you would use firewood: in a fireplace, for heating a sauna or hot tub, or at a campfire. However, note that the heat output of a coffee log is higher than that of regular firewood. Therefore, we recommend burning no more than three logs at a time in the stove. You can also cut the logs into smaller pieces to ensure they fit better in the stove.
Why should I buy coffee logs?
Coffee logs are eco-friendly as they are made from used coffee grounds, eliminating the need to cut down trees for their production. Coffee logs burn more efficiently and longer than wood, and they do not require separate starters to ignite. They are lightweight and easy to store. Additionally, coffee logs produce only a small amount of ash when burned, making it easier to keep your fireplace clean.
Can coffee logs be burned in a fireplace?
Our product meets regulatory requirements and can be burned in a fireplace or any other firepit that is suitable for burning firewood. Burning coffee logs produces less ash than wood, making it easier to keep your fireplace clean.
How many logs are needed to heat a fireplace or sauna?
This depends on the size of your sauna, fireplace, and home. You will need approximately 15% less coffee logs than wood. Since coffee logs burn hotter than regular firewood, we recommend burning no more than three logs at a time in the fireplace. Each log burns for about an hour.
Does the coffee log char?
It does not char. It burns hot until it is fully consumed and leaves only a small amount of ash behind.
How many should I put on a bonfire?
One log is enough to cook sausages, but you can add more logs to the bonfire if you need extra heat. However, we recommend burning no more than three logs at a time, as the heat output of coffee logs is higher than that of wood.
Does the log smell like coffee when burned?
No, the coffee log does not smell like coffee when burned. However, it could be an interesting idea to develop such a version for coffee enthusiasts in the future!
Where can coffee logs be stored?
Coffee logs should be stored in a dry indoor area, and they should not be exposed to moisture. The log bag fits conveniently into a closet, such as one in an entryway.
